A little breathing space

A world heritage site that provides a home to Bengal Tigers, One Horned Rhinos and many other animals that are among some of the most endangered species on the planet.

Chitwan National Park is an epic wildlife sanctuary near the Indian Border; Home to a huge variety of different mammals, birds, fish, reptiles & amphibians. Most notably the park protects the endangered One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger & Gharial Crocodile.

Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, dissected by changing rivers and roamed by it’s majestic occupants, the Chitwan National Park is a place of incredible natural beauty. While the heritage listed park is protected from deforestation the surrounding area has been severely deforested.

The tree planting sponsored by Gobe customers goes to the reforestation of this buffer zone around the park, extending the animal habitat and providing a source of income for the local villagers.

Power to the people

Rural villagers in Nepal are some of the poorest in the world and directly depend on their natural environment for food, shelter and income. When local ecosystems are damaged, the poor are the first to suffer. Without financial resources or the knowledge to manage vulnerable resources in a sustainable way, they often further degrade their lands in order to survive, perpetuating their poverty.

Employing locals to plant trees help lift them out of extreme poverty through environmental stewardship.

Entire villages have been empowered as they plant trees to restore their forests and children go to school instead of going to the forests to cut logs for fuel.

By planting trees and rejuvenating the forest systems the water tables rises, and water purity improves, agricultural production increases, and wildlife habitats is restored.

Join the revolution and rejuvenate planet!
