Conscious design. Positive impact.

Our brand values guide every decision we make. They help ensure we’re working towards our mission and vision. See how our values drive our people and business and help protect our planet.

1. Sustainable quality

“The best way to make a product sustainable is to make it last
a lifetime.”

– Minnie Piccardo, Gobe creative director.

Conscious design

Gobe products are designed to serve a singular purpose perfectly. We use the best components so you can trust our gear and focus on your creative practice.

Clever details

Our products are packaged in minimalist recycled and recyclable cardboard, which is consciously designed to be reused as storage vessels.

Positive impact

And for each product purchased, we help employ local communities to plant 5 trees in areas suffering severe deforestation. You can read more about our tree planting here.

Independent assessment

We use an independent agency to assess our product lifecycle to identify opportunities to further lower our environmental impact to ensure we’re working towards our goal of having a net positive impact on the environment.

2. Creative bravery

The importance of creativity

Whether you’re just starting out, or you’re a seasoned professional, nurturing a creative practice is good for your soul. We believe art can play a critical role in spreading the message of sustainability and environmental accountability.

Supporting art for a greener future

Art has a special ability to plant beautiful and important ideas deep into others’ minds. We’re proud to support our global ambassadors who are using their art to make a positive impact on the world. We believe art can inspire others and help create a brighter future. Enjoy our renewable source of inspiration on our storytelling platform – Gobe Magazine.

Creativity as a global connector

We’re proud to play a role in artists’ creative practices in over 150 countries around the world. We hope to inspire more people to get out in nature with a camera in their hand, and to share their perspectives with others.

“Everything we make is designed to stoke creative curiosity. To help you deepen your creative practice and your connection to nature.”

– Christian Gibson, Gobe director.

3. Conscious environmentalism

“Everything we buy, use, and create has a negative impact on the environment. Once we acknowledge that, we can work towards minimising that damage and making better decisions that help regenerate the environment.”

– Chris Gooley, Gobe director.

Tree planting

When Sir David Attenborough said the best way to heal the planet is to plant more trees and protect the wild places, we wanted to help. So we built our business model around doing more good and planting trees. We partnered with Eden Projects who facilitate our tree planting by employing local communities in areas of severe deforestation to plant trees and rejuvenate their ecosystems. We’ve proudly helped locals plant more than 1.5 million trees, and this is only the beginning. We plant 5 trees for every product purchased to help offset the negative environmental impacts of the production process.

Shrinking footprints

Since launching in 2014, we’ve actively worked on shrinking our environmental footprint. Our minimal packaging uses recycled and recyclable materials and is consciously designed to be reused. As we develop new products, we take our time researching materials and processes to ensure we’re using the most sustainable methods and minimising our footprint.
