Why trees?
Trees create the air we breath
Yep, without trees, our air would lack the oxygenation we need to breath. In a single year, one acre of land populated with mature tree growth can provide enough breathable air to sustain 18 people.
Trees clean the air
Trapping them in their leaves and bark, trees not only filter dangerous particles out of the air but actively absorb odor and pollutant gases (nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and ozone).
Trees help prevent water pollution
Naturally filtering rainfall as they break- then direct - water from their canopy to their roots below, trees reduce storm water and thus runoff carrying pollutants to the ocean.
Trees provide food
A single fruit tree can yield up to 15-20 bushels of fruit per year and can be planted on the tiniest urban lot. Aside from nourishment for humans, trees provide sustenance to birds and other wildlife.
Trees provide a canopy and habitat for wildlife
Trees provide much needed shade from the sun on a hot day and shelter when it’s wet. They are also home to an endless variety of bird and animal species.
Trees reduce damage from droughts and floods
A tree’s root system will hold soil in place that would otherwise be washed away by heavy rainfall. They also act as protection against hot dry wind during times of drought.

Madagascar is a nation with over 200,000 genus of plant and animal life that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. As 90% of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, entire species have been displaced taking away the Malagasy’s ability to farm and live on the land.

A world heritage site that provides a home to Bengal Tigers, One Horned Rhinos and many other animals that are among some of the most endangered species on the planet. Our reforestation efforts will focus on restoring a buffer zone around the park in order to extend the animal habitat as well as become a source of income for the local villagers.
